Stafford and Rural Homes

Stafford and Rural Homes is a newly created registered social landlord which owns and manages 5,600 homes in the borough of Stafford.   We are a registered charity.

Stafford Borough Council owned the housing stock until 6 February 2006.  In March 2005, 68% of tenants who voted were in favour of stock transfer and this set in motion a process that took 12 months to complete.

The terms on which they were consulted are set out in the Council’s consultation document.  This document contained a series of  promises to our customers, and our progress in delivering these promises will be regularly updated in the Performance Management section of this web site.

Transfer took place on 6 February 2006. The Association is locally owned and controlled, with a management board of five Council nominees, five elected tenants and five independents appointed by the Board.  It is managed professionally by a Chief Executive, Directors and people with a range of professional skills and experience.
