Welcome to the page where you can find out about becoming a Company member of Stafford and Rural Homes.
What is Company Membership?
If you sign up as a member, you can you can have a real voice and a vote at our Annual and other General meetings, when any major proposals for the changing the organisation are put forward.
Achieving a wide membership was one of our key promises, and offers real involvement for tenants in key decisions affecting the future of the organisation. Examples of such changes might be proposals to change or name or merge with another Housing Association.
What would it cost me?
Sign up is FREE. Your only commitment as a company member is to pay £1 in the very unlikely event of the company going bust. This has never ever happened to a Housing Association!
Who can become a member?
Its open to anyone who meets the following criteria:
- Is a tenant, licencee or a member of a tenant of licencees household
- Is 18 years of age or over
- Has signed a written consent on the membership application form
- Is not disqualified from being a members under the rules of the organisation
- Is not in serious breach of their tenancy agreement
