We offer a wide range of self-contained apartments and bungalows across 18 schemes that have been specially designed to help customers over 55 or, in exceptional circumstances, those under the age of 55 live independently for longer. Facilities include a communal lounge, laundry, garden and a guest bedroom.* (*charges apply)

A dedicated team of You First Independent Living Coordinators are on hand throughout the week to offer practical advice to customers in the comfort of their own home.
Independent Living Co-ordinators are available to advise on customers’ individual tenancy management needs, manage the communal facilities and co-ordinate activities.
Their role includes:
• Managing health and safety in the schemes
• Providing advice for customers on maintaining the safety and security of their home
• Organising regular scheme activities and meetings for customers about the running of the scheme.
• Holding regular Advice Surgeries for customers to raise any questions or concerns about housing matters such as rents, repairs, adaptations or neighbour disputes
• Making contact with relatives, next of kin or other agencies when necessary and with the customer’s consent
• Giving information and advice on organisations who provide services for residents
Homes are equipped with the You First Telecare Service which is accredited by the TSA. This service uses technology to provide daily reassurance and assistance in an emergency, giving customers and their family peace of mind.
An additional Wellbeing Service is available to customers who need extra support in their home.* (*charges may apply)
Customers have an opportunity to get involved in social activities including; bingo, coffee mornings and fundraising events. If they wish, customers can also get involved in a customer committee and join the SARH Alliance Group.
We can arrange an accompanied viewing for prospective customers to see the homes available and to discuss how the service we offer meets your needs. We also offer regular Open Days which are advertised on the SARH website.
Personalised advice and assistance is available to help customers to understand the terms of the You First Independent Living tenancy agreement. Customers with additional support needs may also be able to access the You First Wellbeing Service.

You First Wellbeing Service is designed for those over 55 years who need some extra support to help them continue to live in their own home. Wellbeing Co-ordinators work in partnership with statutory and voluntary organisations to create a plan to help you achieve your personal goals.
You First Telecare Service is a home safety and personal security system for elderly and vulnerable customers.
Simply pressing a discreet alarm button, that can be worn as a necklace or on your wrist, immediately connects you with a caring and dedicated You First Telecare advisor.
