Drugs and Stolen Goods Recovered in Raid

October 6, 2006

Stafford and Rural Homes, in a joint operation with Staffordshire Police, entered three properties in Willow Road and Jervis Road, Stone on 5 October 2006, recovering a significant haul of stolen goods and controlled drugs. A number of arrests were made.

The biggest operation ever mounted by the Stone Police, resourced by over twenty officers in three teams, was held in response to concerns from local residents that the tenants at these addresses were behind a number of unlawful activities in the area, and were destabilising the community.

Karen Armitage, Chief Executive of Stafford and Rural Homes, said

“This is a first class example of how we are prepared to take our residents’ concerns seriously and work with the police and other agencies to help ensure that our estates are safe and pleasant places to live in. Unlawful activities of this kind will be dealt with firmly and in the most appropriate ways, and I am grateful to the police for their willingness to work with us on this. “

Stafford and Rural Homes will take further action shortly, based on the outcome of these raids and any prosecutions, regarding possible breaches of tenancy conditions by those involved.
