February 15, 2008
Its hard to believe, but we were 2 years old on 6 February 2008!
To mark the day we gave goodie bags to customers visiting us at The Rurals, Civic Centre or the Stone shop on the day. Gifts included 2 low energy light bulbs or a power-saving device for computers, as part of our desire to help lower the carbon footprint of our homes. In Stone, staff were out and about in the Town Centre and spoke with over 50 tenants to publicise the Stone Advice shop in Crown Courtyard.
As the day was also Chinese New Year’s Eve, staff enjoyed a lunchtime event at The Rurals, sampling Chinese food and being entertained by musicians and artists demonstrating traditional painting and handwriting skills.
Karen Armitage, Chief Executive, said “The last two years have really flown by, and we have made a difference to the lives of so many of our customers on the way, but there is so much still to do. We look forward to working hard this year with our customers and partners to build a three star excellent service.
It was great to see our staff enjoying themselves as a reward for so much hard work, and as part of our celebration of the diversity of our communities. More events will follow in 2008 to help us achieve a greater understanding of the traditions and cultures of our customers, so that we can try to tailor our services to their needs.”
