Stafford and Rural Homes working in partnership with customers

As part of a continuing drive to provide improved and flexible access to all our services, Stafford and Rural Homes has just secured planning permission for its local office and tenant resource centre at Greyfiars, Stafford.
The redesigned shop unit will be run by housing staff providing access to all our housing services. Customers will be able to seek housing advice, report repairs or anti-social behaviour, and discuss confidential issues in a secure and discrete environment. The unit will feature an internet café, flexible space for community events and training courses.
Alongside this will be a Resource Centre for tenants, staffed by tenants. This will include office space, with meeting and private interview facilities.
Final design details are now being finalised with a group of our involved tenants who currently run an office at The Rurals.
As part of this new project maintenance and improvement works to the rest of the block will be completed, including lighting, ramp and paving repairs, with redecoration of soffits, facias and railings.
Work on this exciting project is due to start in February 2008, with completion due by late spring. Further details of events to celebrate the opening of the unit will be published in March.
