Stafford and Rural Homes tenants have responded in their droves to vote in their representatives on the Housing Association’s Board of Directors. An impressive 31% of those eligible to vote sent in their ballot papers in the first tenant elections for Board members since the transfer of the stock to Stafford and Rural Homes in February 2006.
June Bradshaw, a sheltered housing tenant at Oxleathers Court and Ruth Knott from Highfields were elected and congratulated at yesterday’s Stafford and Rural Homes Annual General Meeting where the results were announced.
Karen Armitage, Chief Executive, said “I am thrilled that so many of our customers took the time and trouble to vote. This is a good sign that more and more tenants are interested in how we deliver our services and are keen to influence who represents customers’ views on the Board. We hope and expect our flourishing relationship with customers will help to improve key services, as we strive to be the best. Our thanks to everyone who voted and to those who attended the AGM on Thursday 22 November.”
