Anti social Behaviour Injunction granted

April 29, 2008

On Wednesday 23 April 2008 Stafford County Court granted an Injunction against Amanda Chevelleau of 1 The Lawn Poplar Way Stafford.

Neighbours have been subjected to anti-social behaviour, including violence and loud music since Ms Chevelleau took up residence in January 2008. Despite several warnings her behaviour has not improved, leaving Stafford and Rural Homes no option but to apply for the Injunction.

Under the terms of the Injunction Ms Chevelleau is forbidden from;

1. Engaging in conduct likely to cause a nuisance or annoyance to persons residing at, or lawfully in the location of The Lawn Poplar Way Stafford
2. Playing or allowing to be played any radio, music, television, music instrument or device so loudly as to be heard outside her home
3. Making any noise so loudly that it can be heard outside her home
4. Contacting any of the named witnesses in the proceedings.

Failure to obey the order, which remains in force for a year, may result in Ms Chevelleau being sent to prison.

It was further ordered that Ms Chevelleau pay Stafford and Rural Homes legal costs of £1718.35.

Karen Armitage Chief Executive at Stafford and Rural Homes said “We hope that by obtaining Injunction orders we demonstrate we will not tolerate anti social behaviour. We do not want to see our tenants being sent to prison. As a responsible landlord however, we have a duty of care to all our customers and in this particular case the other residents in the block of flats”.
