• help to ensure you are aware of any charges that you are responsible for
   
• offer advice based on an assessment of your circumstances
   
• make realistic agreements with you for the repayment of debts by manageable instalments
   
• enable you to access benefits advice and debt counselling in order to make the most of your income and reduce debt
   
• provide vulnerable tenants with advice and support, to meet their individual circumstances.

This policy covers the following debt:

• Rent owed by former tenants (those who are not now living in Stafford and Rural Homes propertties)
   
• Rent owed by current tenants on a former tenancy;
   
• The cost of rechargeable repairs owed by former tenants;
   
• The cost of rechargeable repairs owed by current tenants on their current tenancy;
   
• The cost of rechargeable repairs owed by current tenants on a former tenancy.
