Repairs & Improvements

Welcome to the Repairs and Improvements page! The Stock Investment Team look after all improvement initiatives, including:

Improvements
These programmes include Decent Homes work , delivering the "Stafford Standard" and Major Structural works. We will deliver a multi-million pound investment programme in partnership with our own Repairs First team and a range of external contractors. We are in year four of a five year programme and are on target to deliver:

• UPVC Double glazed windows and doors to all homes
• 2,000 new kitchens
• 900 new bathrooms
• 500 full central heating systems
• Roofing works to 1,600 homes
• 5,000 homes benefiting from fencing, gates or off-road parking

We are also investing £10 million for improvements to our sheltered housing schemes, improving access to facilities, modernising homes, improving the environment, and providing a range of adaptations to meet the changing needs of elderly residents.

Repairs
At Stafford and Rural Homes we pride ourselves in the quality of our repairs service. We have our own team of repairs staff who work throughout the borough. We also work closely with a range of contractors who provide specialist services or back up to our own teams.  The service covers:

  • Day to day repairs
  • Cyclical maintenance
  • Works to empty properties
  • Gas & Electrical servicing works

Our Asset Management Team look after

  • Future housing development
  • Grounds Maintenance
  • Risk assessments on land and property
  • Site surveys and design works
  • Sales and acquisitions of land and property

The Technical Support team maintain:

  • Stock condition survey data collection
  • Programme planning and development
