We look after large landscaped areas of land on our estates through our contractor, Greenfingers, who cut the grass during the warmer months, and tidy beds, footpaths, snrubs and small trees during the colder months.
We will shortly publish maps on this page of all areas we maintain, so that you are aware of our areas and those looked after by others such as Street Scene at Stafford Borough Council.
During the summer months, we aim to cut all grassed areas every two weeks, subject to weather conditions, and you can click to see the grass cutting schedule for your area for 2010.
Trees
We have completed a survey of trees on our open areas of land to assess safety and general cndition, with a view to a yearly programme of maintenance to ensure risks to customers are kept to a minimum and estates are kept well maintained and tidy. The results of the survey and the proposed works will be available shortly from this page.
Trees in your gardens will be included on our stock condition survey programme and assessed every five years or so. Our surveyor will record the number of trees in your gardens and call in our tree surgeon if any tree is found to potentially pose a serious risk to customers or surrounding property.
General maintenance or pruning of trees in gardens is the responsibility of tenants in accordance with the tenancy agreement.
Some trees are subject to Tree Preservation Orders, imposed by Stafford Borough Council. If this is the case, an application must be made to the Council for permission to maintain the trees in question. Permission is not always granted.
