Are you a customer living in one of our sheltered schemes?
Do you want help with a small repair job?  If you do, we may be able to help!  We launched a brand new Handyperson service in Spring 2008 to provide help to those living in sheltered housing.

Here are some examples of jobs that can be done by the handyperson:

• Putting up shelves
• Hanging pictures
• Changing light bulbs
• Fitting curtain rails
• Fitting a new toilet seat
• Lifting carpets
• Small painting jobs
• Minor repairs
• Small repairs to fencing and gates

How much will it cost?
Its free!  The Handy Person will complete jobs which take up to one hour free of charge.  Any job over an hour may be considered but there will be a charge.  We will agree a price with you before work starts.  Materials such as nails will be free but customers will need to provide their own curtain rails, light bulbs, paint etc.

How do I get in contact to place my job request? 
Contact  the Customer Services Centre on 0800 111 4554, or  tell your scheme manager and they will telephone for you.
You can also ask the handyperson if you see he or she is at your scheme.  An appointment will be made for the handyperson to visit you.

If it is not possible to do the job requested at the first visit, a date and time will be agreed with you.
   
When is the Handyperson available?
The service is available between 8.30am and 4:00pm from Monday to Friday.  Half a day will be allocated to each scheme.  Qualifying sheltered schemes are:
