Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) raises funds each year for a designated local charity.

The Charity of the Year for 2016 is A Child Of Mine. The organisation supports bereaved parents and was founded by local mum Gayle Routledge who lost her own son to a rare form of childhood cancer.

How we chose the charity of the year

Several local charities were put forward by SARH staff. A Child Of Mine came first in a poll to find a charity to benefit from all fundraising efforts in 2016.

Past fundraising for charities of the year

In 2015 we supported Eclipse Child Bereavement Service, raising £3,300 through a number of staff and customer events. Eclipse is an organisation that provides bereavement support to children who have lost a loved one.

In 2014 SARH employees and customers raised over £3,200 for the Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance, and in 2013 we raised over £4,000 for Greenhall Nursery.

“Eclipse does marvellous work helping young people through the most difficult times, and I’m delighted our staff and customers have managed to raise so much for a very worthy cause."
