Repairs

SARH has a responsibility to carry out repairs to your home as set out in your tenancy agreement.

We will usually carry out emergency repair within 24 hours, an urgent repair within 5 calendar days and a routine repair within 11 calendar days.  However sometimes this might not suit you so we will try to offer you an appointment that is convenient for you.

Some major repairs, for example structural work, will be done within 90 days.

Our staff and any contractors we use will always show their identification card to prove they are who they say they are.

There are some repairs for which you are responsible.  These include:

  • Replacing locks
  • Repairing damage caused by neglect or abuse by you, any member of your family or visitor
  • All internal decoration, including repairing minor cracks and holes in walls and ceilings.
  • Bleeding radiators.

You are also responsible for :

  • Toilet  seats
  • Sink and bath plugs and chains
  • Light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and fuses
