Are you looking to join a fast-growing Development team during an ambitious programme that creates great places to live, work and grow.

The Development Officer will join us at an exciting time and be responsible for assessing prospective sites for development potential. They will carry out development appraisals making recommendations on the viability of projects and support the team with the delivery and post completion of new housing projects. Whilst the Development Officers will work flexibly across all areas, this post will specialise in post-contract work.

If you have recent experience in the Housing property sector working with Homes England and/or other funding authority procedures and can build great relationships with a range of stakeholders, we want to hear from you!

Can you bring your property surveying and project management experience to a BEST company?

This is a new role alongside 2 other Technical Officers who work closely with our partners and customers, providing excellent stock management, delivering individual projects and surveys as required, and providing technical assistance across the organisation.

Commercial Property Officer JD

Volunteering: BeConnected Befriender

Many older people feel cut off from society. Even those with busy family and social lives can feel alone sometimes. BeConnected helps people to connect with others through regular FREE events, supported by volunteer Befrienders.

Run in partnership with Stafford Borough Council, the project aims to alleviate loneliness and improve lifestyles of vulnerable, elderly groups across Stafford Borough.

The BeConnected Befriender role will involve engaging with elderly people in Stafford Borough. Volunteers will help to reduce social isolation and loneliness in adults ages 65+, giving individuals an increased sense of community, belonging and independence, though a variety of 121 and group sessions. This may simply be a coffee and a natter, or attending local groups. Where appropriate, volunteers will signpost service users to relevant activities and services that will improve their confidence and mental wellbeing.

The role is flexible and we aim to work with all volunteers taking into account their lifestyle, skills and location. A BeConnected Project Worker will support volunteers to work in locations that suit them.
