Sue Nicholls

Sue has previously worked as a civil servant in Department of Health and Social Security and is currently the Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Staffordshire South West which provides advice services across Stafford Borough and Cannock Chase. With 34 years primarily in the third sector in advice, information and support, Sue has extensive knowledge the issues affecting local people and the wider area. Sue also has considerable management experience, HR skills and a wealth of advice and knowledge including welfare benefits, debt, legal and housing alongside being a good team player. Sue firmly believes that everyone should have access to a house to live in and a place to call a home, regardless of wealth or status. And chose to become a board member in social housing as she believes social housing is part of a meaningful social structure within a society and should be fully supported locally and nationally.

Sue is secretly a Rod Stewart fan and loves going to concerts, she also has the secret skill of painting furniture. On a day off we’d find Sue stream walking or trying to stay upright on a trampoline with her grandchildren! Advice Sue would give to her teenage self would be to “Travel more and don’t be in a hurry to be someone or something different”.
