Growing grants available for green schemes
Closing date: Friday, May 10.
Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) Customers, Community groups and other organisations working to improve the green spaces in the neighbourhoods served by SARH are being urged not to miss out on the chance of a £500 Growing Grant.
Two grants, of £500 are available for projects that could transform an unloved plot of land into a communal garden, a haven for wildlife or a space to grow fresh vegetables.
Applicants needn’t be SARH customers themselves – they could be a school or registered community group – but their project must benefit them in some way.
Karen Armitage, SARH Chief Executive, explained: “The grant scheme has proved a huge success since it was launched a couple of years ago.
“We’ve found the most successful projects are those led by the very people who will benefit the most and we’re delighted to be able to support them in their efforts to improve the areas where they live,” Karen said.
“They’re certainly helping to make the Stafford area, a better place to Live, Work and Grow and the Growing Grants will provide them with a welcome boost.”
This year’s grants have been kindly sponsored by Chrome Services Ltd, which is working in partnership with SARH to build 23 new affordable homes in Sandon Road, Stafford.
The lucky recipients will be announced in May and further information about the Growing Grants, including details on how to apply, can be found at sarhomes.wpengine.com/GrowingGrant
