HANDS-ON INDUCTION FOR NEW HEAD OF ASSET MANAGEMENT

Posted on 19th June 2014

A local housing association has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Mark Edwards as Head of Asset Management.

During his first weeks in the role at Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH), Mark has been out and about assisting plumbers, electricians and other tradesmen on calls to properties across the heart of Staffordshire.

“As we manage around 6,000 properties, it would be impossible to visit every one individually, but by accompanying our maintenance teams I’ve been able to see first hand the issues they face on a day-to-day basis,” he explained.

“By taking this approach I’ve also had the opportunity to meet a lot of our customers face to face, and to listen to their views on the services we provide.”

In his new role, Mark is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of SARH’s existing housing stock through its repairs service, as well as the technical aspects of building new homes to meet local needs.

Born and bred in Stafford, Mark started his career as a trainee surveyor and is returning to his roots after working for several housing associations in the Birmingham area.

On his appointment, Karen Armitage, Chief Executive of SARH, commented: “Mark brings with him a wealth of experience that will prove invaluable as we look to strengthen our position as the leading provider of local housing solutions.”
