Clive and Gwen turned to SARH for help when they decided that they wanted to live somewhere more secure and suitable for Gwen’s health issues. They enjoy the active social life that the SARH Independent Living Scheme has given them, but also appreciate the privacy that they are able to have as a couple. Gwen says ‘at the end of the day we have a laugh and a giggle, but we all look out for each other!’

Resident Christine says she received valuable support and friendship from her neighbours after her husband sadly passed away. She also enjoys the wide range of activities available within the community, ‘helping out in the communal garden here and all of the other activities certainly keeps me busy!’

“Living here reminds me of the community spirit when the children were just babies; everyone looks out for one another, but you still have the privacy of living in your own home which has plenty of space.”
