Housing association on the lookout for ‘good neighbours’

Housing association on the lookout for ‘good neighbours’

Posted on 13th August 2012

A local housing association has launched its search for Stafford’s best neighbours.

Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) is appealing for customers to get in touch with their nominations for this year’s ‘Good Neighbour Award’.

The idea is to recognise people in the community that go above and beyond the call of duty to help make life easier for others.

Last year’s award was won by Walton resident Roy Cooper.

Roy was nominated by the residents of Longhope Drive after helping neighbours at the independent living scheme with their gardens.

“Last year we picked a very worthy winner and I’m hoping we can do the same again in 2012,” said Karen Armitage, Chief Executive of Stafford and Rural Homes.

“It is a great opportunity for SARH residents to say thank you to someone who is always there to help, so if you know someone in your community we want to hear about it.”

Send details of your nomination and the reasons why you think they deserve the recognition to Karen Marshall at SARH’s headquarters at Parker Court, Staffordshire Technology Park, Stafford or email karen.marshall@sarhomes.staging.wpengine.com

If you live in an Independent Living Scheme give the details to your Independent Living Co-ordinator.

Nominations for the award need to be in by August 20.

The winner will be announced at SARH’s Annual general Meeting on September 20.
