New Affordable Homes in Stafford – Information events

Members of the community are being invited to a series of information events being organised by Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) during January.

The events are being held to give members of the community more information about our plans to provide new, affordable homes in the Borough.

Karen Armitage chief executive of SARH said “Our vision is ‘to provide quality affordable housing in a safe environment. To strengthen communities in the towns and villages and to provide excellent services for all our customers in partnership’- this is the start of our commitment to deliver more affordable homes in the borough of Stafford”

These plans include the regeneration of two demolished garage sites at Morton Road Burton Manor and Hawksmoor Road Rising Brook to create 19 homes.

A further 25 properties will be built on the sites of the demolished working men’s club in Douglas Road West and disused land at St Peters Close, in Silkmore.

The homes will be delivered in partnership with Housing Plus as well as developers William Davies and Clutton Homes but will be owned and managed by SARH.

The delivery of this new affordable housing is also being supported by Stafford Borough Council and a £2.2million grant from the Homes and Communities Agency.

Two architects – Barnett Ratcliffe Partnership and Metropolis – have designed the homes to an energy efficiency level exceeding government guidelines. This will help customers control their heating bills using solar panels and high efficiency condensing boilers.
