New affordable housing proposals for Swynnerton

RESIDENTS in Swynnerton are invited to view proposals for an exciting £2million development to build 21 new affordable homes in the village.

The new development will be situated in Park View on the former site of the Swynnerton RC Primary School and will be developed for local people and will reflect the local housing need.

A consultation event will be held at Swynnerton Parish Hall between 5pm and 8pm on Tuesday 23 April.

“The development drawings will be on display and SARH are keen for local people to come and give their views on the proposals,” said Alison Hayward, Development Manager for SARH.

SARH along with its development partner, Housing Plus, have worked closely with the Parish Council to bring forward this housing scheme predominantly for older people, encourgaging downsizing and releasing family housing within the Parish, to ensure that Swynnerton remains a vibrant and thriving place to live into the future.

“The housing need has been demostrated through SARH’s waiting list identifying smaller accommodation being required within the Parish” said Karen Armitage, Chief Executive of SARH.

“To help meet this clear demand for more affordable smaller homes SARH and its partners are delighted to put forward our development plans which we believe will be extremely positive for the village.”

SARH is working with Housing Plus and Seddon Construction to deliver the new homes and plan to submit a planning application in the summer which, if successful, will see work start on site later this year.

The completed homes would be available from late 2014.
