Residents invited to fun community event this Saturday!
Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) and local community and residents group, HERaTAGE are inviting people from the local community to a fun event this coming Saturday, 12th April to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The event has been organised by Highfields Estate Residents and Tenants Association for a Good Environment (HERaTAGE) and will take place on Saturday 12th April from 10am – 1pm at the Grove Primary School on Highfield Grove in Highfields.
People who come along will be able to watch a dog show, take part in Belly dancing, test their football skills with Stafford Town Football Club and buy items from the craft stalls. Stafford Fire and Rescue Service and the Credit Union will also be there to provide any advice with fire safety and money matters. Refreshments will be available to buy.
Since it started in May 2004, HERaTAGE’s successes include securing £30,000 to fence the Eastern boundary of the estate, promoting a Best Garden Competition, a Good Community Neighbour Award Scheme and Community Fun Days.
Their hard work was also recognised by the Tenant and Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) back in 2011 when they won the ‘Best Practice in the Community’ Category in the central region of the awards after being nominated by Stafford and Rural Homes.
Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) will also be working in partnership with Streetscene and Stafford County Council’s Highways team to tidy the area this Friday before the event takes place on Saturday.
Anna McLauchlan, Community Involvement Officer at Stafford and Rural Homes said: “Members of the HERaTAGE group have done some fantastic work in the Highfields area over the last 10 years which has undoubtedly made a huge difference to local residents.
“We are very grateful for their dedication and hard work to make the area a nicer place to live and therefore were keen to work with them to hold this community event which will be fun for all the family and I hope many will come along to support us.”
