SARH achieves charity fundraising target in six months…but the good work continues!
Generous staff and customers from Stafford and Rural Homes have helped smash the organisation’s charity fundraising target of £2,000 for the year in less than six months.
SARH has so far raised over £2159 for its nominated charity Greenhall Nursery and Key Learning Centre, which provides support for pre-school children with a range of learning and physical disabilities and their families in Stafford.
“To achieve the £2,000 target for the year in just six months shows just how much our staff and customers have really got behind this fantastic local charity. I’d like to thank everyone that has donated their time and effort to such a good cause,” said Jo Hough, Head of Organisation Development for SARH.
Fundraising activities have included a car park car wash, dress down days, a health and wellbeing event where staff gave donations for a personal health check and the collection and sale of 60 bags of unwanted clothes and books.
SARH also kindly donated a £100 photography prize won in a competition, run by Seddon Construction, which involved organisations giving their mascot ‘Seddy the Teddy’ the chance of work experience and sending in the photographic evidence.
Far from scaling down its fundraising efforts though, SARH has a number of further events planned for the coming months and the housing association is still determined to raise as much money as possible.
“Although we have achieved our target already we are going to continue to build on the fantastic total so far and help to make a real difference to a charity that provides such a valuable service to families in Stafford Borough,” said Jo Hough.
