SARH and Stafford Borough Council team up to promote adult learning

A week of events to promote adult learning week in the Stafford borough will begin on Monday, May 14.

Adult Learners Week will kick off with a festival at Oddfellows Hall inStaffordon Monday May 14 at 9am. Exhibitors will consist of many partners inStaffordshowcasing learning opportunities. A range of free learning sessions being held across the borough for over-19s have been organised byStaffordand Rural Homes (SARH) and Stafford Borough Council.

 “The events aim to give adults the chance to have a go at many different kinds of learning, whether it is to help them get into employment, allow them to help their children with homework, or to simply discover more about the world or to satisfy a longing ambition in life,” said Lyndsey Shepherd, Training and Development Officer for SARH.

 Classes wills range from effective job hunting, basics of Skype and email, and an introduction to care work , craft clubs, face painting and zumba.

 SARH’s mobile office will also be in market square from Monday to Thursday and activities will also be held in Stafford Market, Guildhall Centre offering tips and advice on adult learning opportunities in the borough.

 Adult Learners’ Week is theUK’s largest annual festival of learning, helping to inspire thousands of people over 19-years-old each year to discover how learning can change their lives.
