SARH put their shooting boots on to raise money for Greenhall Nursery
Tradesman and office staff from Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) went head to head in a charity football match to raise £230 for Greenhall Nursery and Daycare Centre.
“We’d been looking to organise a game between staff for a while and we decided it would also be a great opportunity to raise some money for the nursery, which is SARH’s nominated charity this year,” said Tarvinder Gill, Housing Choices Advisor for SARH, who helped to organise the match.
Staffordshire University offered free use of one of its artificial pitches, on Beaconside, and the players donated the normal pitch fee to the nursery, which provides support for pre-school children with a range of learning and physical disabilities and their families in Stafford.
There were also kind donations from colleagues who came along to watch the match, which the office team eventually won 8-4.
“There was plenty of friendly competition and everyone enjoyed the game but the most important thing is we raised a great amount for a fantastic local cause,” said Tarvinder Gill.
