SARH appoints new Strategic Board Chair
Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) has appointed Alison Hadden as the new Chair of its Strategic Board.
Alison has taken up the position at the Midlands-based housing association from Paradigm Housing where she departs from her role as Chief Executive.
Alison replaces current chair Kevin Upton as he comes to the end of his tenure.
With more than two decades of experience in the social housing sector – ranging from working in large local authorities to national housing associations – Alison hopes to help SARH drive forward its ambitious growth aspirations and excellent customer service record.
Alison said: “I’m very proud of my seven years spent working for Paradigm Housing and I’m looking forward to a new challenge as a non-executive Chair of SARH.
“I am very keen to build on the legacy left by Kevin and look forward to working with SARH Chief Executive Karen Armitage to continue to grow this highly successful organisation with a great culture and commitment to delivering first-class services.”
Kevin Upton, outgoing Chair of the Strategic Board, said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed fulfilling my role at SARH, and I am extremely proud of everything we have been able to achieve.
“The organisation is filled with vitality and a buzz of energy and achievement which is apparent as soon as you step through its doors.
“We have become a successful housing association, building new homes, developing a platinum-rated call centre, winning numerous awards for our work, and providing a great service to our customers.”
During Kevin’s tenure, the organisation has won a number of accolades, including finishing in 10th position in the Sunday Times Top 100 Not for Profit Organisations to Work For, five consecutive Gold RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Award wins and a Gold Workplace Health Award from Staffordshire County Council for Wellbeing.
“I am sorry to be leaving but am delighted that Alison has been appointed as my successor, her vast experience in the areas of regeneration and community engagement will be a great asset to the organisation,” added Kevin.
