SARH takes to the road to offer free winter health checks
A TEAM of staff from Stafford and Rural Homes is touring Stafford this winter to offer customers free health checks.
The ‘You First’ Telecare team is using a mobile office to tour SARH Independent Living schemes and surrounding areas offering blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) tests. The team will then signpost people to relevant organisations if results are above or below recommended levels.
“Many people who are concerned about their health sometimes try to avoid going to see their doctor but we want to offer a relaxed environment where people can come and talk to us for friendly advice and follow up with expert medical advice if needed,” said Karen Foster, SARH Business Development Manager for Telecare.
The remaining stops on the tour are as follows:
Doxey House, 10am – 11am.
Gough and Crispin Close, 12pm –13pm.
Marston Court, 1pm – 2pm.
Marsh and Hopton Court, 2pm – 3.30pm.
St George’s Road, 10am – 11am.
Lichfield Court, 12pm – 1pm.
Tithe Barn Court, 1pm – 2pm.
Jubilee Court, 3pm – 4pm.
Hall Close, 1pm – 2pm.
Shakespeare Road, 3pm – 4pm.
Oxleathers Court, 10am – 11am.
SARH Telecare Coordinators will also offer advice on how the Telecare service could help customers or a family member remain independent within their own home if additional support is needed.
The winter checks follow a successful tour around Stafford and Stone areas last summer.
