SARH team recognised at HR awards
Stafford’s leading provider of affordable homes has been ranked alongside some of the biggest names in British business for the strength of its HR team and innovative approach to recruitment.
Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) was shortlisted for two awards in a prestigious annual competition organised by a well-respected publication for HR professionals.
The housing association faced stiff competition in the Best HR Team and Most Effective Recruitment Campaign categories at the 2017 HR Excellence Awards, standing against high profile entrants such as Cisco, DHL, EasyJet and the Zoological Society of London.
“Although we didn’t scoop the top awards, to reach the finals of the HR Excellence Awards was a real achievement in itself,” said Jo Hough, Director of Organisational Development. “We were delighted that our approach of encouraging employees to ‘be the best they can be’ through training, career development alongside support for their health and wellbeing was recognised by judges from HR Magazine.”
“Our approach of promoting SARH as ‘an employer of choice’ to boost applications for vacancies also impressed judges in the Most Effective Recruitment Campaign category. This approach has helped us build and strengthen a fantastic team here in Stafford.”
Karen Armitage, SARH Chief Executive, added: “We’ve already won a number of awards this year and to reach the finals of the HR Excellence Awards, which attract entries from so many blue-chip companies, is testament to the dedication of our HR Team. They really are leading the way when it comes to making SARH one of the country’s best organisations to work for.”
