Sheila awarded for being a good neighbour
A good neighbour in Stafford has received a special award for the support she gives to others in her local community.
Sheila Blackman, of Impstones, in Gnosall, has won the Stafford and Rural Homes’ Good Neighbour Award for her efforts to help her neighbours.
“I’m overwhelmed to win this award because I don’t consider what I do to be special but it’s always lovely to know that others appreciate your efforts,” said Sheila.
Sheila always keeps a caring eye out for her neighbours and visits them at home if they need some extra support.
She has also done shopping and made meals for those living nearby and even agreed to be an emergency contact for a neighbour.
“Our good neighbour awards aim to celebrate the very best examples of community spirit which help to make Stafford a great place to live and there is no better example of this than Sheila and her efforts for those in her local area,” said Karen Armitage, Chief Executive of SARH.
The award was presented to Sheila at SARH’s annual general meeting, on Thursday, September 19.
