St George’s Road celebrates St George’s Day

St George’s Road celebrates St George’s Day

Posted on 26th April 2010

WHEN St George’s Day comes along residents in one Stafford street have more reason than many to celebrate.

For St George’s Road is named after England’s patron saint so Stafford and Rural Homes’ customers make sure they mark the occasion.

Several customers at the sheltered scheme decorated the street with bunting and organised a tea party.

A cheese and wine gathering was also held for other local residents in the evening.

Lynda Carol Walton, SARH Independent Living Co-coordinator at St George’s Road, said: “As we are on St George’s Road we couldn’t let the day go by without some kind of celebration and our customers have really enjoyed the day.

“We also wanted to include others that live on St George’s Road that aren’t part of our scheme and the cheese and wine party was a relaxed way to do this.”
