Weather presenter backs winter warmth message
WEATHER presenter Emma Jesson has backed Stafford and Rural Homes’ message aimed at keeping people warm and healthy over winter.
The ITV Central Tonight presenter has praised SARH’s bid to help families and older people living in its homes to keep warm over the next few months.
Emma said: “It’s going to be cold for the foreseeable future with further frost, ice and snow showers likely across the Midlands in the coming weeks. With this in mind it is really important that people take advantage of all the advice and support on offer to help them keep warm.”
SARH’s Independent Living Team has produced a booklet for customers aged over 55 offering helpful hints including encouraging neighbours to look out for each other and tips for keeping your house warm in winter.
The booklets are available at all of SARH’s Independent Living schemes, at SARH’s shops in Stafford and Stone, and from the organisation’s HQ on Staffordshire Technology Park.
SARH’s Money Management officer Liz Pilley is also offering practical advice to customers on gas and electricity tariffs, including applying to trusts for help towards gas, electric or water arrears and budgeting.
“The winter months can be an extremely difficult time for many people and we want to give our customers as much advice as possible on how to manage their money so they will be warm and comfortable during the cold weather,” said Liz.
